Amsterdam set the stage for an important reset in the global cocoa conversation as leaders from industry, government, civil society and technology gathered for the first day of the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) Partnership Meeting. 

Across plenary sessions and breakouts, one message was unmistakable: the cocoa sector has entered a decisive phase.

From regulatory transformation and forest protection to child labour monitoring and digital innovation, stakeholders signalled a strategic shift away from fragmented initiatives toward coordinated, system-level solutions. 

The tone was pragmatic, urgent and, at times, candid. With 2030 climate and sustainability targets looming – and supply chains under unprecedented pressure – incremental progress is no longer sufficient.
