Knoops: Crafting a Global Chocolate Drinks Phenomenon With a Slice of American Pie

The London-based company has announced it will open its inaugural US store in Utah in April 2026 — the first step in a wider plan to establish over 160 stores across the United States over the next six years.

The ‘Knoopology’ effect

Founded in 2013 by German chocolatier Jens Knoop, Knoops began as a boutique concept in Rye, East Sussex, centred around premium handcrafted chocolate drinks and a bespoke tasting experience.

The company’s signature ‘Knoopology’ approach allows customers to tailor their drink by selecting from a curated menu of chocolate percentages, milk options and natural flavour infusions — a concept that has built a devoted following across the UK and beyond.

Today, Knoops is a recognised luxury chocolate café and retail brand with almost 30 stores across the UK and several outlets in the Middle East. Its products — including gourmet chocolate flakes and at-home drinking chocolate — are also sold through premium retailers and online.
