Last year’s inaugural list — The Top 10 Most Influential People in Cocoa & Chocolate 2024 — sparked widespread debate and captured the imagination of the industry. From cocoa farmers to CEOs, sustainability leaders, chocolatiers and journalists, the rankings celebrated those whose influence shaped real change across the value chain.
Editor Tony Myers recalls: “Last year, John Adamanor, a cocoa farmer from Ghana, took the top spot as a representative of cocoa farmers everywhere — because without the farmers, there would be no cocoa. But the list also included CEOs, sustainability officers, independent chocolatiers, and journalists. What we look for is influence that creates real impact. The first list attracted huge attention — I believe it was the first of its kind in the industry. It sparked debate, but ultimately, it’s about recognising those who strive to do good in a sector that often gets its share of bad press.”
