Barry Callebaut Sees Hershey Volume Hit as Lower Cocoa Prices Lift Cash Flow

The current agreement expires at the end of 2027. The companies are still discussing the future scope of their commercial relationship, so any further volume effect remains uncertain. Hershey accounted for approximately 4% of Barry Callebaut’s sales volume in 2025/26.

The update came alongside mixed full-year results. Group sales volume fell 0.7% to 2.11 million tonnes in the year to August 2026. Revenue declined 15.2% in constant currency to CHF 12.19 billion as cocoa-linked selling prices fell. Recurring operating profit fell 14.1% in constant currency to CHF 594.0 million ($726.72m)

For the full year, Barry Callebaut’s chocolate volume declined 0.5%, compared with a 4.3% fall in the confectionery market measured by Nielsen.
